The Annual Garrick Christmas Family Home Evening

Another wonderful Christmas Family Home Evening with some of your favorite families here... This year we had the Lewis', the Christensen's, the Brandt's and the Melling's with us. We ate lots of good food (soups, salad, rolls, fruits and veggies), the kids played, the adults visited. I taught our Family Home Evening lesson- reviewing the story of Christmas and why Jesus is so important to us. We also watched a 5 minute video called "The Nativity" which really gives you a feel for the reality of Mary and Joseph's situation and the circumstances around Christ's birth. we were fortunate to have Angela there as a pregnancy reference since she is pregnant and will have their baby on December 30th. We're pretty sure she would not have enjoyed a donkey ride at this point in her pregnancy and delivery in a barn! :)

After our lesson was the White Elephant gift exchange game. Cole started us out. (This was a baby gym) Super fun as always!! I think we all agreed that Marielle brought the funniest White Elephant- goldfish!!
You can bet the kids were all dying to be the ones who ended up with them... and you can bet the parents were all hoping their kids didn't "win" them!
I hope everyone had a great time. I loved it! It is one of my most favorite things to do at Christmas time.

What a fun night! We never do anything with other families, what's that about? Probably because in Utah everyone seems to have family closeby so we don't reach out to each other.

Looks like such fun! We're a bit lonely this year all by ourselves, but it's nice to have a low-key Christmas at home. Especially since I'm having a baby in 3 weeks!

Did you get the invite to my blog? I think I got your address right!

Merry Christmas!
