Our Almost Teen

Jillie over the past few weeks has decided to grow up. She's been growing up- she has grown in maturity- but all of a sudden she's done that by leaps and bounds. She has informed me this weekend that her bedtime is supposed to be 10:00pm. (I guess I missed the memo that all children who reach the age of 11.5 years now must go to bed no earlier than 10pm.) But along with this information she has shown that she's ready for more responsibility. When on Sunday I was running late while the kids waited for me, she realized that my delay was due to the fact that I had to get everone else ready first. She suggested that maybe I should teach her to iron the clothes so she can do that while I get ready. Another Sunday I again was trying to get myself ready- running late- she took it upon herself to get JackJack ready for Church so I didn't have to. These are a few examples of many changes she's made lately. I guess it's time that I let her- hard as it may be. I need to give her the opportunity to grow- to make her own decisions more often. She even started her own blog! Here we go...
